FIELDNOTES / BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Clear terms.
Private materials.
How credits work, when your study guide arrives, and what happens to the material you share. Your exact scope and price are confirmed in the private workspace before payment.
01 / Credits & quotes
Fieldnotes uses prepaid credits. Current prices and ordering availability are shown on the creation page and confirmed before Stripe-hosted Checkout. There is no subscription, automatic renewal or automatic top-up. Purchased credits do not expire, cannot be transferred and have no automatic cash-redemption feature.
- One credit covers each started 30 minutes of combined recorded or timestamped lecture material.
- Untimed transcripts use one credit per started 4,500 words. This is a billing unit, not an estimate of a recording’s duration.
- For mixed packages, recorded minutes divided by 30 and untimed transcript words divided by 4,500 are added, then rounded up once, with a minimum of one credit.
- The first 25 supporting slide pages are included. Each additional started 25-page block costs one credit.
- The syllabus allowance and course context are included.
Your quote shows the credit requirement, existing balance and purchase options before you submit. A quote expires after 30 minutes; an existing Checkout session retains its original price. The charge never increases after payment.
Credits are reserved for a submitted guide and consumed on successful delivery. Retrying the same guide does not use additional credits. Credits reserved from your existing balance during a top-up are released if that Checkout session expires.
02 / Delivery & review
Delivery is due within 24 hours of confirmed payment or credit redemption and completed intake. Your guide includes all three reading depths, course alignment, diagrams, practice questions and PDF / browser editions. Source coverage depends on the material you provide.
Guides pass automated checks and an independent AI evidence review. Exceptions are held for operator review; this does not mean every guide receives a human review. Missing syllabus coverage is shown in your guide. Critical unreadable material or unresolved evidence problems can hold delivery.
If delivery is delayed, we notify you and offer cancellation with restored credits or the applicable refund. Ordering may pause when capacity is unavailable. Existing free samples remain accessible.
Download your finished PDF and HTML within 30 days of delivery. The download deadline is shown with your guide. Keep a copy on your own device if you want to use it later.
Fieldnotes is an independent educational aid. It does not guarantee a grade, complete exam coverage or a specific academic outcome. Practice questions are original teaching material, not official or predicted exam questions.
03 / Refunds & failed guides
You may request a full refund of an entirely unused credit pack within 14 days of purchase.
For a failed, undelivered guide, you may receive restored credits or a refund of the amount actually paid for the credits allocated to that guide, never both. Discounted credits are refunded at their allocated purchase value, not at the full individual-credit price. Restored credits remain available in your account.
Refund requests are handled and reconciled by the operator. Contact fieldnotesmgmt@gmail.com from your account email and include the relevant order or purchase reference. Do not send card details or university passwords.
04 / Private materials & retention
Your uploaded lectures, transcripts, slides and syllabus are private materials, separate from the public sample library. Only provide material you are authorized to share. Fieldnotes does not ask for your university login credentials or use a portal link to bypass login.
How material is processed
Recordings are transcribed by the provider identified in the private workspace before submission. Source text and necessary slide images are processed by OpenAI to create and check your guide. Private excerpts and student identifiers are not sent to external research searches. Stripe handles payment details. The configured email provider sends email-code sign-ins and delivery notices; processing provider details are disclosed in the workspace.
Your account stores your sign-in email, intake details, guide status, credit balance and purchase history so you can access your guides and manage orders. Payment and credit records are retained separately from lecture content.
Content retention
- Abandoned unpaid uploads
- Removed after 24 hours.
- Raw materials, extracted content and checkpoints
- Removed seven days after delivery.
- Failed or canceled working materials
- Removed seven days after resolution.
- Delivered PDF / HTML guides
- Available for download for 30 days after delivery.
- Content backups
- Rolling seven-day expiry. Deletion records are reapplied before a restored service becomes available.
Use your account’s deletion controls for resolved guides and materials. Content deletion does not remove the separate purchase and credit records needed for payment and refund reconciliation. For access or deletion help, email fieldnotesmgmt@gmail.com.
05 / Materials & course scope
A private package covers one course, up to five primary lectures and 180 minutes of combined recorded or timestamped material. Each primary lecture is a recording or a transcript. Supporting slides supplement those lectures.
- Primary formats: pasted text, TXT, SRT, VTT, MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4 and MOV.
- Recordings: 250 MB per file; complete package: 1 GB.
- Untimed transcripts: up to 27,000 words per package.
- Supporting slides: up to five PDFs and 100 pages combined.
- Syllabus: pasted excerpt or one PDF of up to 20 pages.
- English-language material only for this release.
File type, readability, duration, page count, language and quoted scope are checked before payment. Direct recording download links can be used when the service can access them. A university portal page that needs a login requires an authorized file or transcript instead.
YouTube sources also require usable transcripts and source eligibility checks. A source needing review must clear that review before checkout. Availability of a link alone does not establish permission to use its content.
Confirmed course objectives guide the coverage map. Sources can cover an objective fully, partly or not at all; a course title alone does not establish syllabus coverage. Timestamps, page references and paragraph references let you revisit the supporting material.
